Enable the Change Control Log

Notes:

Be sure to enable the change control log when you intend to implement the Change Control Workflow Process to manage changes to the budget data. You must be an administrative user to enable the change control log.

Be sure to enable the change control log before you Set the Current Period for the new project. This is the first calendar reporting period for a new project. EVMax automatically creates the current period budget values based on the current period setting. Should budget values already exist for the current period, turning on the change control log will clear these values.

Once you enable the log, recommend you leave it enabled. Should you turn the log off and then turn it back on, any existing change log content is cleared.

Prerequisites

  • Set the Project Budget Base. This includes the contract total cost value, budget baseline value, and budget set aside as management reserve. Recommend enabling the change control log when you create a new project and have set the project budget base values so all budget baseline changes are tracked from the beginning.

  1. Select Project Data > Projects. The Manage Projects tab window displays.
  2. Click on the Structure [Select] dropdown in the Ribbon Menu and select the project you want from the list.
  3. Select the Change Control tab.
  4. Click Turn Log On. A confirmation dialog box displays.
  5. Click Yes.
  6. Click Save in the Ribbon Menu.
  7. Optional. Close the Manage Projects tab.
